Brief description of CHAC:

The Christian Health Association of Cameroon (CHAC) is a network of confessional organizations involved in healthcare provision. It was founded in 2019 in a bid to enhance synergies among members so as to improve on their internal capacities to deliver quality services and strengthen their voice on Health related issues.

CHAC is a member of the Africa Christian Health Associations Platform (ACHAP) and works closely with the Ministry of Public Health in Cameroon to improve health service delivery across the country.

Mission

To enhance synergies among members to improve their internal capacities to deliver quality health services.

Vision

To be a leading network of Christian health organizations in Cameroon, recognized for excellence in health service delivery.

Health Facilities

CHAC members operate a network of health facilities across Cameroon, providing comprehensive healthcare services to communities, especially in rural and underserved areas. These facilities range from primary health centers to hospitals, offering services in general medicine, maternal and child health, surgery, and specialized care.

Health Programs

Health programs refer to the provision or administration of health-related services and coverage (including insurance). Healthcare delivery will not be complete without the creation of programs. Generally, these programs target health promotion, disease prevention and treatment. Programs aim at keeping populations healthy by engaging and empowering individuals and communities to choose healthy behaviors and make changes that reduce the risk of developing chronic diseases and other morbidities. Currently CHAC members have programs in general healthcare, eye care, dentistry, HIV, mental health, NCDs, nutrition, WASH, etc. both at facility and community level.

Pharmaceuticals

Pharmaceuticals is an essential aspect of healthcare provision as drugs can relieve symptoms, delay the onset of disease, prevent complications, cure, improve life expectancy and quality of life. Some members of the network have established pharmaceutical departments that are in charge of producing essential drugs and other consumables and purchasing drugs on the national and international markets.

Partnership

CHAC understands the importance of partnerships and networks in sharing its story and furthering its cause. Currently the Association is working to establish durable partnerships with national and international agencies for support. So far, CHAC has ACHAP as its main partner.
